It is time we got back in touch with the importance of the relationships we have with the customer. Specifically:

• We need to stop seeking cost-savings in ways that damage relationships with the customer

• As rapidly developing nations undermine developed economy competitiveness, companies in these developed markets need to protect the one thing that can never be outsourced: the relationship you have with the customer

• We need to stop thinking in terms of how can we interact less with our customer, and start thinking about how can we interact more with them
